Hr Project Officer (research Culture)

Leeds, United Kingdom

Job Description

This role is open to current grade 7 Human Resources employees at the University of Leeds only.

Creating a research culture within which people can thrive is key to achieving the University\xe2\x80\x99s strategic goals and to ensuring that our values are embedded within everything that we do. Our people practices are core to this, and an ambitious programme of work is planned; encompassing activity and support targeted to the research community, as well as shaping the University\xe2\x80\x99s working practices to ensure the needs of our community are understood and met.

Funded by Research England\xe2\x80\x99s Enhancing Research Culture scheme, we are now in a position to make significant progress in achieving our research culture ambitions via a range of HR-related projects. With a positive and collaborative approach, you will support and sometimes lead on the development of strategic projects. Your work will vary between projects but will involve all aspects of project management from idea generation to planning and scoping, engaging stakeholders, communications, implementation, and transitioning projects to business as usual.

You will be responsible for coordinating your own workload to meet deadlines and be able to develop workable solutions and influence decision making. You will have the ability to face and adapt to challenges and overcome them in a positive and proactive manner. You will use your experience and excellent interpersonal skills to build credibility, develop effective working relationships, and gain buy-in from key parties.

This post sits within the HR Strategic Programmes Team. Day to day you will work closely with the lead Head of HR for Research Culture, the Head of Researcher Development and Culture, and the Dean for Research Culture, along with other key parties across the People and Culture Directorate and beyond, proactively building links and networks to facilitate effective working. You will be a member of the Research Culture Steering Group, providing advice and guidance to shape activity as well as leading on aspects of delivery.

With experience of working in an HR environment, you will also have experience of supporting and delivering projects, sometimes in difficult or complex circumstances, and as such, you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others. This role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills within a supportive team environment.

If you are interested in this position please apply via Stonefish, submitting a CV and supporting statement detailing your experience, by 23:59pm on Thursday 14 September 2023.
