We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive HR professional to join our HR and Payroll team as a part-time HR Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic role for an HR generalist looking to make a real impact by delivering a comprehensive, efficient and people-focused service across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
Reporting to the Head of HR, Culture and Transformation you will provide professional advice and guidance across a range of HR and payroll matters. You'll also play a pivotal role as we implement a new integrated HR and Payroll system. Other tasks include:
Employee Lifecycle Management:
Support end-to-end recruitment processes, from job postings to offer stage.
Coordinate onboarding, including contract preparation, system setup, payroll handover, and induction processes.
Support initiatives around employee recognition, wellbeing, benefits, and engagement.
Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, final payroll coordination, and IT/equipment returns.
Employee Relations:
Support employee relations including absence management, performance, disciplinary, grievance, and contractual matters.
Act as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns and contribute to HR initiatives.
HR Analytics & Compliance:
Analyse workforce data to identify trends and drive data-informed decisions.
Ensure processes meet audit requirements and reflect industry best practice.
Maintain accurate HR records and reporting in line with GDPR and internal standards.
What we're looking for:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Working towards or already hold CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent).
Proven experience in a generalist HR role.
Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
Demonstrated experience in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce data analysis.
Experience of payroll /pensions systems (advantageous but not essential as training will be given).
Personal Attributes:
Passionate about delivering high-quality service and continuous improvement.
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Good attention to detail and capable of working under pressure.
Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach.
This is an office-based role (with some hybrid working available), and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Hours of work will be spread over 3-4 days. The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
