If you're ready to make a big impact in a growing business, this is your chance to lead the HR function from the ground up and help shape the future of Millbrook.

About Us

We're a 24-person team that helps UK SMEs access the funding they need to succeed. Our culture is collaborative, ambitious, and values-driven. We believe that business growth starts with people--and we want an HR leader who shares that mindset.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the go-to expert for all things HR--both strategic and operational:

Develop and implement HR policies and best practices

Manage recruitment, onboarding, and team growth

Lead performance reviews, appraisals, and development planning

Monitor training needs and coordinate learning & development initiatives

Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes

Promote a positive culture, wellbeing, and inclusion

Collate monthly payroll data and liaise with our external provider

Ensure legal compliance (employment law, contracts, GDPR, etc.)

Maintain personnel records and HR systems

This is a standalone role where you'll have space to create, lead, and grow the HR function as the business continues to scale.

What We're Looking For

You're passionate about people, practical in your approach, and ready to make a real difference.

CIPD Level 5 (minimum) - Level 7 preferred or in progress

At least 3 years of HR experience in a small to mid-sized business

Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice

Experience identifying training needs and overseeing L&D programs

Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised

Comfortable handling payroll, contracts, and compliance

Bonus: Experience in a fast-paced, sales-led environment

Why Join Millbrook?

A supportive, tight-knit team where your voice matters

Autonomy and trust to shape your own role and department

A culture that blends ambition with wellbeing and flexibility

Hybrid working and a progressive, modern leadership team
