Job Title HR Business Partner - Technology & Functions



What is the opportunity?

As a HR Business Partner you will partner with Technology and Functions managers and leaders to advance the talent review and succession processes to ensure the most effective use of talent and resources, including driving activities to identify talent (especially high potential talent) deeper into the organisation.

What will you do?

  • Reinforce and embed new and emerging change agenda through implementation of targeted HR initiatives, while supporting leader and employees through the process
  • Advise business leaders at initial planning stages and throughout business cycle on potential HR contributions, solutions, implications and risks of proposed initiatives
  • Design and implement the most effective way to carry out practices for the business/ client group
  • Align with business leaders in the planning and execution of overall business strategies, and advise on potential HR contributions, solutions, implications and risks of proposed business initiatives
  • Advance and execute the RBC HR strategic objectives and people priorities, including reinforcement and implementation of initiatives that will transform the organisational culture required to deliver on business strategy
  • Partner with business leaders in the planning, development and enablement of an agile, adaptable and highly competent workforce including advising on best practice strategies to source, retain and develop Human Capital in order to meet business needs
  • Partner with the HR community to identify emerging market trends and bring that knowledge back to the business in order to successfully plan for short and long term workforce challenges and succession requirement
  • Be an active member of the global Functions HR team including attending weekly meetings and providing global HRBPs updates on regional activities that will impact Functional leaders
  • Partner with the Resourcing team to recruit senior staff to meet required and approved FTE levels, including participation in the onboarding and collation of documents for regulatory submissions of SMFs
  • Promote and embed the Total Rewards philosophy and approach
  • Actively promote RBC\xe2\x80\x99s diversity values. Contribute ideas and implement initiatives with regional HR Management team and leaders to move the Diversity & Inclusion agenda forward
  • Analyse data from employee opinion surveys and partner with managers and leaders to align action plans to areas of focus. Enable and hold business groups accountable for execution of action plans
  • Provide guidance and direction on compensation processes, including the annual compensation planning process and all governance related to SMFs and Code MRTs
  • Partner with the business in assessing and strengthening leadership depth and employee capability, including partnering with the Learning & Development team to provide creative learning solutions and development opportunities
  • Provide leadership and direction in establishing performance management practices/processes for individual business units in line with business strategy and culture
  • Work in partnership with line management and Employee Relations Center of Expertise to provide advice on complex and sensitive employee cases including investigations, disciplinaries, restructures, redundancies, grievances, appeals, dismissals etc.
  • Identify/ heighten awareness/ support management and resolution/ mitigation of people risks in the business
  • Provide day to day management and oversight of a Global Mobility Manager and HR Advisor including all aspect of performance management and coaching
  • Oversee all international transfers and assignments into the UK and Channel Islands and Capital Markets Europe

  • Ability to prioritise high volume; competing priorities for multiple stakeholders and in turn deliver balance of advice and counsel with strong execution capabilities\xe2\x80\x8b
  • Ability to understand, assess and respond to complex situations and provide strategic and innovative solutions to drive results
  • Strong relationship management capabilities including the ability to impact, influence, and constructively challenge senior leaders
  • Solid aptitude for change management capabilities and leadership effectiveness along with proven project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and practices globally along with strong business acumen
  • Ability to lead initiatives independently to drive results
  • Proactive approach to tasks/problem solving and proven creativity, experience with marketing and communications
  • University and/or post-graduate degree
  • Highly proficient in systems required to present data effectively
