Our client is a South-East London based education organisation with circa 600 employees who is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to complement their existing HR team. Reporting directly to the Director of People, you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the organisation\'s People and ED&I strategies. Responsible for not only delivering a first-class and seamless HR service to your colleagues, you will also lead, train and coach a HR team. They require someone who has considerable experience in dealing with a wide range of HR responsibilities, sound understanding of employment law and has the ability to build relationships at all levels. You will need a proven track record of experience in a similar position and will enjoy working in a busy and fast-paced role where you can make considerable positive change!

SALARY: Up to \xc2\xa360,000 dependent on candidate experience

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO:

  • Support the implementation, embedding and delivery of strategies to improve and develop the approach to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), reward and performance and talent.
  • Support the Human Resources centralised function to develop and implement Human Resources and Organisational Development strategies in order to improve organisational performance, support change management, and provide professional HR advice to the senior leadership teams.
  • Lead on employee relation cases and also be responsible for implementing operational change management programmes, including restructuring, redundancies and TUPE.
  • Maintaining professional and up to date knowledge of changes to HR, employment legislation, policies and professional best practice.
  • Researching and assisting in the development of HR strategies including delivering against the relevant HR related strategy action plan.
  • Providing advice and managing employee relations casework as required, referring complex or high-risk issues to the Director of HR.
  • Co-ordinating elements of relevant projects to ensure the delivery of outlined development plans.
  • Working with internal communications colleagues to feed into the internal communications plan.
  • Contributing to the delivery of HR services to various departments in order to meet organisational needs, building effective working relationships with colleagues and promoting the image of the HR service as proactive and customer focused.
  • Ensuring that all employees are issued with an updated contract of employment reflecting the latest terms and conditions of employment.
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to determine areas for improvement and developing a solution-focused approach.
  • Working with the HR Administrators to ensure \'Safer Recruitment\' requirements are met
  • Analysing and reporting to the Director of HR staff turnover and present plans and approaches to improve retention.
  • Supporting with the development of people, providing advice, guidance and ad-hoc training on personal development plans, and supporting the Director of HR in identifying employees with high potential, develop career paths in consideration of key roles for succession planning and self-development.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to challenge and influence at senior leadership level as well as build partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Considerable previous experience in providing a wide range of HR advice
  • Sound experience of working in an advisory capacity with knowledge and understanding of employment legislation as well as it\'s practical application
  • Experience of working within an education context is desirable but not essential
  • Sound understanding and experience within reward, performance, EDI and talent
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Previous experience of working with senior leaders on delivering solutions on sensitive and complex ER issues including absence management, performance, grievance, reward and organisational change
  • Strong team player who can succeed in a busy and varied working environment
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)
