Salary:

Band D. The starting salary is 38,926, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 38,523. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

Contract

- The 2 vacancies are of differing contract types.

Vacancy 1 - Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2026 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance). Vacancy 2 - Maternity Cover until 31/03/2026. There is a potential for a 3rd vacancy within National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) on a fixed term contract basis until 31/03/2026 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance). There is a potential for a 4th vacancy within National Police Coordination Centre (NPoCC). Office attendance at 50 Broadway will be 3-5 days (to be confirmed at interview) on a fixed term contract basis until 31/03/2026.

THE NATIONAL POLICE CHIEFS' COUNCIL (NPCC)

NPCC Business Support Team




Business Support maintains the logistics for the delivery of strategic meetings including Chief Constables Council, Regional Chiefs and the newly formed Strategic Planning and Coordination Board. Other responsibilities include supporting the remote workforce for all IT and equipment, HR support, finance, governance assurance, information management and data protection protocols, and host force management duties. The team also work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the NPCC is able to support Chief Officers in the constantly evolving areas of national policing.

THE ROLE




We are seeking a HR and Resourcing Officer to operate in the NPCC Business Support Team. The post holder will work collaboratively with NPCC Senior Leadership Team (SLT), hiring managers and internal/external stakeholders to support the delivery of the workforce planning via Local Resource Planning Meetings and recruitment processes to ensure decisions are within budget and in line with corporate priorities. They will support all staff with standard and complex recruitment administration in fast paced environment, managing the issue of legal contracts and pay agreements. They will impact and influence collectively the NPCC's performance against objectives, target resource numbers and budgets allocated (police officer and police staff).


The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:

Detailed understanding of the administrative processes that support deployment activity, including various entry pathways, postings, Career Breaks, Extensions of Service, Adjusted Duties, secondments and agency workers. Working knowledge and understanding of Redeployment processes in the context of redundancy and capability dismissal. Working knowledge of GDPR and employment legislation. Good written and verbal communication skills in order to respond appropriately to queries or requests for information. Able to gather and utilise management information, analysis, and business acumen to make decisions or recommendations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION




Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.


The Metropolitan Police manage HR for NPCC recruitment.
