Job Summary


The Hotel Folk are an award-winning group of hotels based across Suffolk. We are looking for a top-notch HR Advisor to work with the HR Manager in providing support to their team of amazing Hotel Managers and Folk!

This is a very varied role in a fast-paced environment which would suit someone who is confident thinking on their feet and who enjoys the employee relations side of HR, although there are also elements of employee life cycle, induction, HR systems and the chance to get involved in new initiatives and projects.

You must have a high level of emotional intelligence, be super organised and have an excellent eye for detail and accuracy.

The successful candidate will be minimum CIPD level 3 qualified and have first rate employee relations and employment law knowledge coupled with at least 3 years' recent post-qualification experience in a similar role. Previous experience of working with Rota-Ready HR/Time & Attendance system would be a definite advantage, as would experience of working in HR in the Hospitality industry.

The role is based at The Crown Hotel in Woodbridge, just a stone's throw from the beautiful Deben River

Main Duties & Responsibilities;

Management Support and Advice:



Act as the first line expert HR advisor, bring any compliance, or matters of concern or risk to the manager as soon as they are known.

Conduct monitoring of HR KPI's such as absence and turnover information, using the information to support the Heads of Departments with any problems that are identified.

Provide information and guidance to managers in respect of employee policies and procedures.

Implement updates for policies and procedures in Company Handbook.

Help Head of Departments (HOD) with any performance management issues within their teams.

Coach newly appointed HOD's in respect of their managerial/people responsibilities and documentation requirements.

Carry out investigations as well as disciplinary and grievance meetings, reporting findings as appropriate.

Employee Lifecycle;



- Manage starters, leavers and internal changes in a timely and efficient manner including issue of relevant documentation, update of systems and associated payroll changes.

- Oversee maternity cases and ensure effective liaison with all pregnant employees, timely communication and accurate system input.

- Handle any flexible working applications and ensure compliance with policy and process.

- Manage annual leave entitlements, associated service-related increments and system updates.

Reporting and Payroll:



Oversee, the accurate and timely completion of all HR/payroll admin, including starters and leavers, absence records, induction and training documentation.

Provide all new starters with all relevant employment information before they start, or where this is not possible on their start date.

Check all that all eligibility to work criteria are met and that references are received for all new employees.

Complete and revise written statements and any other revised documentation as necessary.

Exit Interviews

Recruitment and Development:



Support with recruitment advertising for the hotels, internally and externally.

Support HOD's with recruitment and other interviews.

Work with the Training Manager to deliver the Company Induction.

Manage the appraisal system and implement outcomes.

Support managers with development plans for their teams.

Requirements


- Eligible to work in the UK

- CIPD level 3 qualified
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
- Min. 3 years' current/recent/post qualification HR experience
- Experience of running disciplinary/grievance investigations and meetings
- Up to date knowledge of UK employment law

- Excellent levels of accuracy

- Excellent communication skills

- High level of emotional intelligence

- Well organised and able to juggle multiple priorities
