An exciting opportunity has arisen as a result of a secondment to cover maternity leave in the department. This role is a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of an extension.
The HR Advisor FTC role will be responsible for offering practical employee relations advice to the management team and advising on ER policy and process.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable immersing themselves fully within the business to build in depth operational awareness and strong relationships with managers and senior leaders, which in turn will enable them to provide valuable advice that fit with operational needs.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and engaged
HR Advisor
to join our diverse and forward thinking HR team. This is a Maternity cover role for a period of 12 months and is critical to the HR team and the wider business.
The HR Advisor will be responsible for providing professional HR advice, support and guidance in employee relations matters. This role has a strong emphasis on building relationships with the management teams and being a trusted advisor of all employee relations matters and being a subject matter expert on internal policies and procedures.
Our HR Advisors have a strong presence within the organisation and this is a highly visible role across the organisation.
Working within an expanding HR team, the HR Advisors will work alongside the existing workforce to continue to support the business in developing confident people managers, as well as raising the profile of the department as subject matter experts on employee relations, advice on policy and procedure, industrial relations and change management.
Key Responsibilities and Scope
Remain up to date with external HR trends and legislative changes, sharing relevant learnings with the wider team through regular upskilling session
Work in partnership with the management teams and identify opportunities to upskill managers in people management related matters through coaching and mentoring.
Plan, organise and facilitate appropriate HR interventions where there is evidence of dysfunctional or ineffective teams or individual staff. Facilitate workplace mediation for appropriate scenarios, resolving matters before formal action is needed.
Assist and support the HR Business Partners in managing ACAS early conciliation claims and employment tribunal bundles.
Act as the nominated HR representative in employee relations cases
Support on change management processes
Identify areas for improvement across the department, and work alongside the appropriate team members to ensure processes are efficient and robust.
Build and maintain strong and constructive relationships with staff side and trade union representatives
Person Specification
Experience in managing and advising on employee relation matters
Degree or equivalent experience
Experience in workplace resolution through the use of structured mediation is beneficial
Developed knowledge of employment law, current and pending legislation and EU directives
General understanding of trends in employment matters both within and outside the healthcare sector
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Strong stakeholder management skills, developing trusted relationships with across the business
Hands on approach, happy to immerse oneself in a fast paced team, delivering tasks to assigned deadlines.
