is a modern-craft, artisan, family-run bakery business, with a history of over 150 years in the industry. We have been producing the highest quality bakery products for over 60 years, supplying leading supermarkets and food service customers throughout the UK.
Due to an increase in volume, we are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and knowledgeable Human Resources Advisor to join the team on a Fixed Term Contract. This may have the potential to become permanent later in the year. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our HR functions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and enhancing employee engagement. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Main duties include:
Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to management and staff;
Collaborate with management on performance management processes and employee relations issues;
Control the Absence Management procedure including Long Term Sick, Welfare Meetings, and Occupational Health appointments;
Conduct disciplinary meetings where applicable ensuring the ACAS code of conduct is followed in line with company procedures;
Support employee onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires into the organisation;
Manage Agency Labour and supporting with labour provider audits;
Prepare reports and daily KPI's.
This is not an exhaustive list of duties and you may be required to undertake any other reasonable request as required by your manager. In addition, you will undertake any training that the company deems necessary that may assist you to effectively carry out the above responsibilities.
Skills
Strong knowledge of human resources principles and practices;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all stakeholders;
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail;
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
Flexibility to work evenings to support the needs of the Night Shift;
CIPD Level 5 preferred or working towards.

45 hours per week, generally 7am to 4pm but with flexibility to work later hours for night shift support
