Job Description

This role will support with the day-to-day administration of the human resources function, being the main point of contact for internal and external customers with HR / system administration queries and will provide full HR support to our Origin Soil Nutrition business & the Sports and Landscapes Division.





The HR Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all HR administration, and is responsible for recordkeeping, reporting, and information management systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations.



The HR Administrator will play a vital role in enhancing HR systems, streamlining administrative processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the full employee life cycle. This includes proactive involvement in process reviews and improving how data, documentation, and communications are managed across the business.



The HR Administrator should work alongside the HR team to ensure a high level of consistent service to the business and ensure that good relationships are built with all stakeholders. The HR Administrator should be flexible in working hours when required to complete work or to work out of hours.



This role will be initially full time office based, reducing to 3 days once fully trained

Main Responsibilities;





HR Administration & Lifecycle Support


Completing documentation across the full employee lifecycle including contracts, offer letters, right-to-work checks, probation confirmations, family leave, change to terms, leaver paperwork, and processing. Coordinating the onboarding and offboarding processes, including induction plans, system access, welcome communications, exit documentation, exit interviews and system deactivations.
Systems & Data Management


Updating and maintaining HR databases and systems (e.g. BambooHR/trackers), including absence monitoring, training records, employee reviews and objectives, and long-term sickness tracking. Be the primary contact for day-to-day troubleshooting and user support for the HR system (e.g. BambooHR), escalating issues as needed and supporting with any system upgrades or improvements. Producing accurate and timely HR reports and monthly people KPIs. Conducting regular data accuracy checks, identifying any discrepancies, and working with relevant colleagues to resolve issues and maintain high data integrity.

Process Improvement & Documentation


Proactively identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency by systemising processes, where possible. Supporting the delivery of HR projects focused on systems and compliance.

Recruitment & Engagement


Assisting with recruitment administration including job descriptions, advertising, dealing with agencies, and interview scheduling. Supporting with the administration of employee engagement initiatives such as internal newsletters, recognition programmes, surveys, and wellbeing activities. Preparing communications in line with internal branding and tone, working with internal Marketing teams, as needed.

Compliance & Audit Support


Conducting regular audits of HR system and files to ensure records are accurate, complete and compliant, in preparation for internal and external audits. Monitoring and reporting of training completion and proactively following up with managers and employees. Organising and maintaining electronic and paper employee records, ensuring GDPR compliance and maintaining confidentiality of employee data at all times.

General Support & Collaboration


Responding to day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers, escalating where appropriate. Collaborating with departments such as Payroll, IT and Operations to ensure smooth HR service delivery. Providing general administrative support to the HR team. In addition to the detail in this job description, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the responsibilities as listed.



Skills Required





Strong understanding of IT systems with the ability to create documents and reports using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g. BambooHR) and a proactive approach to improving system use and data integrity. Process-driven with an eye for continuous improvement and system efficiency. Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information in line with GDPR. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Meticulous attention to detail, particularly with employee data and reporting. Highly organised, able to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively. Ability to occasionally travel within the UK as required.
