Housing Manager \xe2\x80\x93 income and tenancy

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

This is a great job opportunity for a Housing Manager to join Home Groups awesome housing team in London and the South East. As our Housing Manager you\xe2\x80\x99ll be the face-to-face customer support to our communities. This is the perfect job for you if you like variety and delivering excellent services to our customers and communities.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll join our income and tenancy team, with a real focus on arrears case management and tenancy changes (such as assignments and successions). You will be supported by the wider housing management team of other Housing Managers in the Income and Tenancy team, Neighbourhood Housing Managers, Financial Inclusion Partners and Community Housing Assistants. Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you\xe2\x80\x99ll really get to get to know our communities. This will help us to improve our local neighbourhoods.

You may also get involved in managing anti-social behaviour on our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints, managing our voids, carrying out estate inspections and carrying out routine safety and compliance checks. You may also line manage a Community Housing Assistant, Caretaker or an Apprentice.

About you

• You\xe2\x80\x99ve worked in housing before and understand housing management, housing law and in an ideal world universal credit and housing benefit too (but it\xe2\x80\x99s not a deal breaker).
• You will have a very strong background in managing arrears cases and knowledge of income management processes. Ideally you will have attended court before and have experience of preparing witness statements.
• You\xe2\x80\x99re super organised and methodical in your approach and are a proactive self-starter with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d positive attitude.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
• This job can challenge, especially when we\xe2\x80\x99re dealing with complaints, but your resilience will help you through.
• Comfortable using technology to update records with great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MP\xe2\x80\x99s etc
• Like being part of a team but appreciate that this is a role where you\xe2\x80\x99ll spend most of your time working from home our out in our communities.

Job details

• Hybrid working which involves working from home, in the community or your nearest local office. Admin work can be done from home or a local office.
• The wider team get together to connect and support each other once a week or so.
• You\'ll manage your own diary which may include the occasional evening.
• There may be some flexibility to adapt your working hours, do let us know about this when you meet us at the interview
• Can drive and have access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don\xe2\x80\x99t worry, we\xe2\x80\x99ll pay your business mileage to cover this use!
• Need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. We pay for that to be done if you don\xe2\x80\x99t have a transferrable one.
