We are now looking for a Housing Litigation Solicitor who is passionate about and committed to supporting our front-line colleagues to deliver quality services, homes for the future and places to thrive in for our customers.



The difference you will make



As a trusted member of the legal team, you will be responsible for supporting the housing litigation professionals with the provision of high quality, well-judged and informed legal advice to the operational business in relation to its housing management functions.


The role involves proactively conducting contentious casework to provide high quality, responsive and consistent legal advice on housing management matters, disputes, and housing litigation across the business. This will include work types such anti-social behaviour cases; possession proceedings; injunctions and contempt of court applications. You will also be tasked with advising on non-contentious housing matters such as assignment and succession applications to assist the business to reach sensible, timely and cost-effective solutions. At the same time, you will attend and represent the business at court as required.


Other key responsibilities will include supporting the legal team with identifying and delivering training for the wider business, as well as improvements to systems and processes, and ensuring that any legal or regulatory risks are appropriately managed. You will support the business positively and constructively in achieving its corporate objectives.

So, who are you?



We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a real passion for delivering great customer service. You will have strong technical experience in dealing with a wide range of non-contentious housing management matters, as well as contentious landlord and tenant matters either on the Claimant or Defendant side. You will have a track record of successfully managing a caseload, achieving excellent outcomes. You excel at working in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with change.


We are looking for a team player, as you will be working with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders and partners. Attention to detail and strong advocacy skills will also make you a good fit for the role.

We are flexible on location, but travel will be required to our head office in Speke, Liverpool at least once a fortnight. You will also be expected to represent Riverside in the Northwest Courts.
