Hotel Guest Services (front of house duties)

NIGHT SHIFTS

The Royal Maritime Hotel is a 92 bedroom 3hotel with extensive leisure and banqueting facilities. Situated close to Portsmouth's historic dockyard, the Hotel has charitable status and is steeped in Navy history.
We are licensed for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, and have numerous banqueting and event suites, which include a ballroom accommodating up to 400 people. We have a vacancy for the role of Guest Services This positions carry considerable responsibility, you will be looking after the security of the Hotel and Guests, and will need to be observant, conscientious and have a good awareness of Health and Safety. Relevant previous experience of a similar role, such as Hotel Porter or Night Porter, would be preferred.

Duties will include regular security rounds of the premises, monitoring CCTV, assisting in setting up tables and chairs for Banquets and Conferences, monitoring the swimming pool chemical levels. Supporting the Reception team, helping to check guests in and out, assisting with luggage and local information. General assistance in the Hotel such as keeping public areas tidy and occasionally preparing and delivering room service snacks.

You will need well developed customer care experience and good communication skills. Any other experience gained in hospitality, such as Bar or Restaurant work would also be an advantage.

The hours of work are an average 38.5 per week, working Night Shifts on a shift rota:

4 nights on - 4 off The working hours are 1900 to 0700

This is a varied and responsible role in the front of house, where looking after our guests is of primary importance.

Car parking is available, and a meal is included on duty.

The salary exceeds National Minimum Wage requirements.
