Job Description

We're based right on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland (That's right, Nessie is our neighbour!). Our hostel attracts people from all over the world from backpackers to bikers, walkers, cyclists, and we even welcome dogs!

We are looking for more fun loving, hardworking and adventure seeking folk to complete our Hostel family this season. No day is the same and you'll be trained up to work on every department we have, from the busy bothy bar, entertaining tour groups and leading pub quizzes to housekeeping, chatting with guests at reception and cooking delicious homemade meals. We have it all!

You'll be part of a team who loves wild swimming, jam sessions and mini gigs in our bar, camping, bbqs, board game nights and sampling all of the best Scottish whiskies! We'd love to find people keen to join us on our adventures!

Cleaning and Room Servicing

Food Preparation & Service

Breakfast preparation & service Packed lunch preparation Evening meal preparation & service Kitchen & dining room hygiene and cleaning based on HACCP procedures Maintain familiarity with menu items, ingredients, and allergens Preparation of cutlery and condiments Composting & refuse disposal Weekly deep cleaning of food prep areas
Sales

Sales of company products, accommodation, meals, and drinks. Sales and knowledge of local activities Teamwork with other divisions to ensure seamless customer service Outline knowledge of Haggis Adventures and other tour products Sales of merchandise (where appropriate)
Reception

Telephone answering and basic administration duties Booking reservations via phone & web Dealing with callers, representatives, maintenance contractors and deliveries Check-in of groups and independent guests Till operation & payment processing General Customer Service and Care
Bar Work

Setting up bar for service Basic cellar duties Serving drinks Hosting/Assisting with bar entertainment Till operation Meal sales Bar closure Bar cleaning duties
Extra Duties

Secondment to The Skye Inn for relief cover Basic Maintenance Gardening Maintaining external appearance of hostel Assist other staff when required Adherence to Licensing, Environmental Health and Health and safety regulation
