Job Description

Act as the point of contact for all food and beverage orders ensuring adequate stock levels. Liaise directly with suppliers to facilitate regular food orders to meet the requirements of the patients on the unit throughout their stay. Food orders are not limited to set times Develop a stock level inventory so that there is adequate stock in local fridge/freezer storage at all times Deliver a comprehensive food and beverage service, working with colleagues to maintain a 24hr/7 day a week service. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that a consistent, high quality service is offered and that standards are maintained by all personnel assisting in the delivery of this service Work closely with the Unit Manager and the Facilities Management Team to review all contractual arrangements and contribute to food development initiatives to enhance service delivery across Nash Private Patients Respond to and manage any issues relating to food delivery or quality, escalating when required and maintain documentary evidence of all supplier communications Ensure that all patients have access to the departmental menu to ensure that they are able to select their meal choice effectively Liaise with patients and ward staff with regards to specific food requirements, dietary restrictions and nil by mouth status Collect and collate menus and ensure that their request can be fulfilled in the agreed timeframe Prepare and cook all food freshly to order, ensuring that food is served at the correct temperature to comply with food safety standards and served in line with food handling regulations Serve the right meal to the right patient, ensuring the appropriate portion size and standard of presentation Inform the Nurse in Charge of any issues regarding patient food intake Advise patients who are admitted as a day case of the Light Bites options menu and explain timeframes for the provision of these Ensure the patient can order food/meals throughout the day as required from the departmental menu and the Light Bites options menu
