We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Highways Operative to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving the road network, ensuring safety and efficiency for all road users.
Responsibilities
Receiving Start of Shift Briefings
Carry out routine and reactive maintenance of highways, including pothole repairs, drainage works, and signage installations.
Operate and maintain machinery and tools in a safe and effective manner
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct inspections and report defects or hazards.
Kerbing/ Edgings
Flagging/ Trenching
Drainage all depths
Ducting/ Cabinet sites
Cabling
Cable Pulling
Concreting
Step building
Chamber construction
Ability to read plans and drawings.
Complete installation of works to the correct detail and specifications.
Requirements
Previous experience in highways maintenance or construction is desirable.
A valid UK Driving License
NPORS / CPCS training in Excavators/Dupers/Rollers
CSCS Operative Card
Cat & Genny training
NRSWA Accreditation desirable* Roller & Dumper cards
Safe excavation techniques
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts when required.
