Uxbridge College has excellent facilities for the delivery of Engineering, and this is an exciting time to join our highly successful team. In the role of High Skills Technician for Mechanical Engineering, you will support our higher education delivery and the West London Institute of Technology, which offers a range of higher education programmes.


You will work within the Mechanical Engineering area including the Materials Lab, Mechanical Science Lab and Project Lab. You will provide assistance to lecturers in preparing equipment and resources for teaching and learning, be responsible for maintaining tool and equipment to an efficient level and carry out risk assessments, ensuring all aspects of health and safety are complied with.


You will need to possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, together with at least 2 years' experience with mechanical test equipment e.g. for material testing, fluid mechanics and mechanical principles. You will need to have a good understanding of health and safety requirements and the ability to communicate and work effectively with young people.
