JOHN PEARCE GLYNNEATH LTD is a Transport and Distribution company based in Glyn-neath, SA11 5ER operating 60 HGV vehicles and over 90 trailers. The company has been trading for over 50 years and continues to grow as our reputation for commitment to the customer and high levels of service drive our business forward. We are looking for a professional, highly motivated HGV Workshop Manager who will support our team of skilled technicians. The right person will have a proven track record working within the industry, be familiar with the standards that we as an industry are required to work to and be able to communicate well with suppliers and staff. Experience of computer based systems is a requirement, with the R2C platform preferred but not essential as comprehensive training will be given.

Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for the post of HGV Workshop Manager to support our fleet of heavy goods vehicles and trailers.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will ensure that daily service targets are met, and all maintenance tasks are completed as per the maintenance schedules.

You will, with the assistance of a workshop administrator control daily work schedules, loading job-sheet's, monitor H&S practices and ensure our vehicle are operating in roadworthy condition.

You will communicate targets and action plans to staff each day via briefing sessions with the emphasis on improved reliability.

A firm technical knowledge is key, as you will be first port of call to assist our teams diagnosing and rectifying complex issues.

The role demands someone with energy, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate staff to meet the targets and the high standards we set for the company.

You should possess an appropriate professional engineering qualification, have an eye for detail and have a passion for continuous improvement.
