Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). This role requires hands-on experience with various tools and equipment, as well as the ability to provide excellent customer service. The HGV Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular maintenance and repair of HGVs to ensure optimal performance. Utilise hand tools and equipment for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Perform welding tasks as required for equipment repair. Troubleshoot electrical issues within vehicles and rectify them efficiently. Assist in digging and preparing areas for repairs or installations. Operate forklifts safely to move equipment and materials as needed. Engage in heavy lifting when necessary to facilitate repairs or maintenance. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of HGV systems and components. Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for vehicle repairs. Ability to weld and perform basic fabrication tasks. Understanding of electrical systems within heavy vehicles. Competent in operating forklifts and other machinery safely. Experience with equipment repair, ensuring all work meets safety standards. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job demands. Excellent customer service skills, fostering positive relationships with clients.
