We are recruiting for an experienced qualified HGV Mechanic to work on a wide range of waste collection vehicles to work onsite in our new workshop,

Benefits:

-Various shift patterns available between core hours of 0600hrs - 2000hrs, with every third Saturday half day.

Mechanic: Key Responsibilities

- Repairs of daily defects across the fleet

- Carry out cost effective major and minor mechanical repairs to HGV fleet.

- Attend road-side breakdowns when required

- Preparing the fleet of HGV's for MOT and regular inspections.

- Solid understanding or electrical and hydraulic systems

- Fault finding, repair and maintenance of skip/roro/bin truck bodies and lifting equipment

- Experience of working on static and mobile plant would be advantageous

- Liaise with Workshop Controller to ensure that all materials/parts are ordered and at hand to support timely repairs.

- Comply with the requirements of a safe working environment following the H&S policy

- Basic IT skills required to update and record maintenance records on company systems

The Ideal Candidate....

. Experience of working with HGV's is essential to the role.

. Ability to work autonomously and independently.

. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

. Internal customer service focus.

. HGV driving licence (Nice to have)
