HGV Driver / LGV Class 2 HIAB Driver who has a lorry mounted Crane Certificate and is a qualified and experienced Hiab Driver with good knowledge of the local area and road networks is required to join a well-established Builders Merchant based in Crawley, West Sussex.

SALARY: \xc2\xa335,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Crawley, West Sussex

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with every other Saturday from 8-midday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HGV Driver / LGV Class 2 HIAB Driver who has a lorry mounted Crane Certificate and is a qualified and experienced Hiab Driver with good knowledge of the local area and road networks.

Working as an HGV Driver / LGV Class 2 HIAB Driver you will be operating a long wheelbase 26 tonne with rear wheel steer and remote-control crane.

You will operate as part of the Crawley Team yet be fully competent and able to use your own initiative, with minimum supervision.

As the HGV Driver / LGV Class 2 HIAB Driver your role will also include supervising and assisting all loading, ensuring the goods are strapped down correctly and safe and legal weights are loaded. Operating a forklift from time to time will be necessary, maintaining a safe driving environment for all drivers and passengers.

As a successful candidate the company will expect you to be punctual, reliable, and cooperative with colleagues as well as all staff in your care.

You should also be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance, in addition to working autonomously without assistance while always following safety guidelines.

DUTIES

Your role as an HGV Driver / LGV Class 2 HIAB Driver will include:

• Always drive in a safe and lawful manner

• Deliver goods and collect stock correctly and in good condition

• Check the vehicle daily and fill in defect reports on tablets

• Complete, use and download tachograph readings as required by law

• Assist Yard Operatives with loading and unloading of vehicles

• Check loads are correct and secure before leaving the yard

• Clean vehicles on a regular basis

• Assist with yard duties when driving is not required

• Any other reasonable management request

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Possession of a clean driver\'s licence

• Lorry-mounted Crane Certification (required)

• Driver CPC (required)

• Qualified and experienced Hiab Driver

• Knowledge of the local area

• Detail conscious

• Well organised with a methodical way of working

• Able to meet physical loading, driving and delivery requirements

• Good interpersonal skills

• Able to demonstrate knowledge of general building, hardware, timber products and their application. (desirable)

• Drivers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and cooperative with colleagues as well as all staff in their care

• Drivers should be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance

• Drivers should be able to work autonomously without assistance while always following safety guidelines
