We are currently seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our driver team at Simarco.

Main duties

• Delivery and collection of customers\xe2\x80\x99 freight as assigned by the Transport Office to and from various locations and regions
• Multi-drop delivery and collections
• Supervise the loading of your vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage
• Ensure the correct goods and quantity of goods are loaded and unloaded
• Plan you day and route in the most cost and operationally effective manner
• Present, process and return customers Delivery Notes
• Secure and return Proof of Delivery advice notes (POD) electronic and/or manual
• Inform the Transport Office of any delays to or whilst at work
• Maintain your vehicle (inside and out) in a clean and very tidy condition
• Refuel your vehicle daily in accordance with Company Procedure

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday

45 hours per week

Day Shift with a requirement to cover nights on the odd occasion which is paid at the night rate.

Experience / Skills

• Class 1 (CE) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Tacho card
• Experience of HGV Class 1 driving desired
• Vehicle weights and legal limits
• Drivers\xe2\x80\x99 Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations
• Road Traffic Laws
• Construction and Use Regulations
• Effective communicator
• Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure

Compensation & Benefits

• Night Rate -\xc2\xa315 per hour
