We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 driver to join our Transport division at Head Office located in Heywood.

Working hours: Rotating shifts of 4 on 4 off DAYS

Hourly Rate: \xc2\xa313.81 per hour & \xc2\xa340 weekly irregular shift allowance

The role
In this role you will complete varied tasks which include:

Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.

Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the \xe2\x80\x98Daily Vehicle Check Sheet\xe2\x80\x99 and in line with the \'Guide to maintaining road worthiness\'. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.

Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.

Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs

Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.

Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.

Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.

Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.

All vehicles are to be kept in a clean and presentable condition.

Report any accidents as soon as possible, follow compliance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s accident reporting procedure.

Download your driver tachograph card

Work within the guidelines of working time regulations. (Road Transport Directive).

Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport manager attention if necessary.

To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period.

Clean out the inside of the cab leaving it ready for the next driver.

What we are looking for:

Two years Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license

Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC

Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations

Excellent communication skills

Numerical and focused on accuracy

Strong attention to detail
