Job Summary

A 500 acre all grass extensive grazing operation with 470 crossbred cows, split autumn and spring calving, flying herd and milked via a 24 x 48 parlour is looking for a suitably experienced herdsperson to work closely with the farm manager on a day to day basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of farm management practices, including , animal care, grassland management and equipment maintenance. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing both the land and livestock while ensuring the farm operates efficiently and sustainably.

Responsibilities

Duties on this fully staffed unit will include assisting the farm manager with all aspects of day to day operations, and take full charge in Managers absence, to include milking, general stock work, some yard tractor work, and feeding. Oversee animal care, ensuring proper feeding, health checks. Maintain equipment and machinery, performing repairs as necessary to ensure optimal functionality. Qualifications

Proven experience in farm management or a similar role is preferred. A passion for agriculture and commitment to producing high-quality products sustainably.

Pay: 32,000.00-38,000.00 per year
