We are looking for a Senior Credit Officer in London to join the Hedge Fund and Asset Managers team as part of the EMEA Wholesale Credit Risk Organization.

Job responsibilities

• In this role you will be responsible for credit risk coverage of a portfolio of fund clients, including hedge funds, private equity, LDI, real money and pension funds. You will be responsible for ongoing credit risk portfolio management including monitoring of counterparty exposure, market events and client performance
• You will work as part a team to negotiate and construct recommendations for new client onboardings, new transaction or client relationship approvals including Derivatives activity, Prime Brokerage, Securities Financing, Secured and Unsecured Loans.
• You will lead due diligence and credit analysis to assess the credit worthiness of counterparties and make recommendations as to appropriate structure, risk appetite, risk grading and documentation terms.
• You will have a commitment to development of self and the broader team, including coaching & training more junior members of the team on both technical and professional skills
• You will be engaged across all lines of business within the CIB and lead discussions with other stakeholders including Sales, Trading, Structuring and Legal teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Sound credit skills and judgment developed during previous experience in a comparable environment, ideally in a Credit Risk or Financial Analysis role.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also being able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish credibility and trust with clients and internal stakeholders.
• A working knowledge of Derivatives trading activity, transaction structures, documentation, and banking products sufficient to take the lead in approval of new transactions and trading relationships.
• Experience in Hedge Fund / Asset Manager risk analysis beneficial.
