Full time - Healthcare Assistant - Wards


About Us:
The Cherwell Hospital, located in Banbury, Oxfordshire was purpose built in 2006 and has been designed to combine an exceptional standard of patient accommodation with the technical equipment and facilities that modern medicine demands. The Hospital has a 40-bed inpatient unit, consisting of single or twin rooms and a day case facility. All rooms which have twin beds are single sex units ensuring privacy and dignity at all times. The Hospital is equipped to undertake a large range of procedures, treatments and investigations. We have three fully equipped theatres, with a five-bedded recovery unit. Other outpatient facilities include physiotherapy, pharmacy, radiology, ultrasound and MRI.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant at Cherwell Hospital in Banbury. You will be expected to work on a full-time basis 37.5 on a flexible departmental rota including weekends if required (day & night shift).
Cherwell Hospital is part of the Ramsay Health Care Group and is a highly respected private hospital with a reputation for providing exceptional service to our patients. Please note we will require some flexibility to work overnight (with enhancements starting at 30% [evenings, weekends, bank holidays & nights] on top of the salary.

The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our busy Wards department at The Cherwell Hospital in Banbury. In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. You will have a passion for delivering a high standard of service, and a desire to develop your skillset. Attention to detail is key with the ability to stay calm and be practical in challenging situations.

What you will bring with you


  • NVQ level 2 or 3 would be an advantage

  • Hospital experience would be an advantage

  • A warm, considerate and empathetic character

  • A commitment to support individuals and assist as necessary with activities of daily living including personal care/therapy, social, emotional, and recreational needs and aspirations.

  • The ability to make decisions and use your initiative

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A flexible and positive attitude

  • Computer literacy skills
