Morris Ward is part of the Medical Division, Cardiac Surgery Directorate, caring for patient\xe2\x80\x99s both pre and post Cardiac Surgery. We are based on NUH City Campus, within the Trent Cardiac Centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Healthcare Assistants and will welcome any forward thinking, caring individuals who are committed to providing a high standard of safe quality patient care, in addition are keen to develop new knowledge and skills. We offer a place on the HCA induction and support you to complete the National Care Certificate, as well as other opportunities to take part in learning and development.
Both full time and part time will be considered.
Main duties of the job In addition to the below summary you need to familiarise yourself with full and Person Specification documents attached to this advert. As you will be delivering hands on care to patients, we are looking for confident individuals who are able to deal with members of the public / patients as well as other members of the hospital multidisciplinary team\xe2\x80\x99s. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure. Be able to work independently or as part of a team, prioritising and managing your own workload. Assisting the registered nurse with patient care, recording and documenting care given, reporting to senior nursing staff and/or medical staff any areas of concern. The successful candidate will also assist in perform housekeeping duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the ward If you are a committed and flexible team player who would like to gain experience within this exciting specialty we would very much like to hear from you.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Good basic level of secondary school education
  • Willing to undertake NVQ level 2 in health care training
  • Evidence of personal development in previous employment

Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2 in healthcare
  • Basic IT Skills

Experience
Essential criteria
  • One year relevant work experience

Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in health or social care setting

Communication and relationship skills

  • Physically able to perform duties
  • Evidence of clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
