We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and competent healthcare support worker (HCSW) to become part of our friendly team at the Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) in the New Forest, Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a HCSW to work in a busy and dynamic department and support the clinical team with managing the influx of patients throughout the day.
Lymington UTC sees approximately 20,000 attendances per year and this demand has increased with the COVID pandemic. Our clinical team comprises of nurse practitioners, specialist paramedics, doctor/GPs, as well as healthcare support workers. The service sees patients from all ages, and we are fortunate to have excellent facilities and an ability to manage a range of different patient presentations. As a department, and the PHL Organisation as a whole, has recently achieved a 'Good' from our CQC inspection and we are immensely proud of the service we provide.
The successful applicant should be prepared to work either 8 or 12 hour shifts during the department opening hours. The shifts will comprise of supporting the clinical team with delivering a high standard of care for any patient that attends as a walk in. A number of the tasks that the healthcare support worker will be involved with will include wound care/dressings, fracture management and plastering, obtaining clinical observations and ECGs, and assisting with emergencies. There is also an added expectation that the HCSW will support with the smooth running of the department with maintaining treatment room stock levels, ordering supplies, and covering the reception desk where needed.
