An opportunity for Health care support workers has arisen within Princess of Wales Hospital, Ward 9. Ward 9 is a colorectal, ENT emergency surgery ward, however we also look after patients from other specialities. We are looking for reliable motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.The individuals will be required to work under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.Due to ogoing building work, we have temporarily relocated to Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. We plan to return to Princess of Wales this year.Main duties of the jobSuccessful candidate will be caring for patients with a variety of surgical conditions, patients come to us pre and post operatively. You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living including washing, dressing mobilising, feeding and pressure area care.Successful candidate will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard and assist in keeping ward area clean and clutter free.The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative. Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.About usCwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.
