Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Talent to join our Group Human Resources team.
Reporting to the Group HR Director and forming part of the HR Leadership Team, this strategic role will lead the development and implementation of talent acquisition, development, and management strategies across the Group, supporting our ambitious growth plans through people.
This is a project-based, highly visible role requiring a balance of strategic leadership and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, logging and managing support tickets from initial report to resolution.
Develop and implement strategies to improve talent attraction, recruitment performance, and talent development across the Group.
Build an efficient and effective talent acquisition strategy, with a strong focus on attracting and retaining diverse talent.
Lead and manage the Group's recruitment agency Preferred Supplier List (PSL), driving standardisation, efficiency, and quality.
Deliver initiatives to enhance the Group's employer brand and improve the ED&I profile of the workforce.
Design and implement learning and development strategies aligned with business needs, supporting capability growth.
Develop succession planning frameworks, talent pipelining, and career progression pathways across the Group.
Shape and evolve the Group's Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and support external brand recognition.
Build and manage an internal talent acquisition function; upskill managers with tools for effective team management.
Define, track, and report on key talent metrics, contributing to HR governance and Board reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
Experience of developing strategy and implementation plans.
Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills.
HR SME knowledge, background and experience, specifically in Talent Acquisition, managing recruitment agency PSL, and strategic relationship management.
Proven experience designing and implementing talent management strategies, including succession planning, career development pathways, and capability frameworks.
Strong understanding of workforce planning, internal mobility processes, and building talent pipelines aligned to business growth needs.
Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions.
Good programme management skills, with experience delivering complex projects or programmes of work.
Analytical and able to interpret data and report on progress.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships.
Desirable:
Strong commercial acumen along with financial awareness of managing a budget.
Experience designing and embedding competency frameworks linked to performance, learning, and career development.
Experience delivering talent reviews, leadership development programmes, and high-potential identification schemes.
Experience of successfully designing and executing diversity and social value initiatives.
Industry knowledge and understanding of the current recruitment trends within the Group's markets (i.e., engineering-led workforce).
Experience of working for both a private equity backed SME company and a large corporate.
HR generalist experience.
Experience in managing and developing a team.
