The Mare Nostrum Group is an ambitious and growing, full-service publishing company providing distribution, sales, marketing, consultancy and recruitment services to commercial and university academic publishers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Based in the UK with an in-house team of 30 employees, we provide a fully collaborative service for both print and digital content, which complements and extends the work of our client publishers.

To help build on our recent success and growth we are recruiting for a Head of Sales with direct responsibility for ROW (Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa). The successful candidate will have a proven track record of both managing teams and delivering sales and new business within the publishing industry.

Duties of the role:

• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth and revenue
• Directly manage relationships with ROW agents and distributors
• Build market share within territories, whilst protecting discount and margin
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Client Management teams to align client satisfaction, sales and marketing efforts
• Manage a team of 5 direct reports covering UK and Key Accounts, Campus and Special Sales, Europe and Digital sales.
• Report to and work closely with the MD

Skills required:

• At least 10 years\' experience working in publishing sales
• Entrepreneurial thinking
• People management skills
• Demonstrated track record in achieving / exceeding sales targets
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
