Job Purpose

Drive the strategic and sustainable growth of the UK generics business unit through a broad team of high-performing associates to achieve our ambition of becoming the leading and most valued generics company in the UK.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Accountable for full Business Unit P&L to include topline, operating margin, and cost targets
  • Develop a five-year strategic plan to deliver net sales and margin development targets
  • Lead a high-performing team to deliver on key performance measures
  • Manage a broad portfolio of INN and branded Gx products in the retail, hospital and primary care channels, through the use of sales/marketing planning, competitive insights, data and analytics, contract management, portfolio management, marketing, operational planning, launch planning, implementation and management of resources in the short and long-term.
  • Member of the Sandoz Leadership Team, which is the executive team overseeing the UK
  • Ensure that patients and customers are in the forefront of all commercial activities and planning
  • Ensure all commercial activities are carried out with full compliance to internal and external compliance standards
  • Represent Sandoz externally in the relevant public forums (trade industry, policy etc.) that influence the business environment for the retail generics business
  • Represent the UK generics business and support above-country strategic projects as needed
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across Supply, Regulatory, Medical and Commercial Excellence to achieve results
  • Build strong key account customer relationships to defend and grow our business across channels
  • Ensure appropriate incentives and support are in place for field-based associates
  • Develop competitive customer/ key account, product, pricing and competitive strategies based on competitive intelligence to drive opportunities for further growth
  • Use focused marketing activities to support the retail customers and product portfolio
  • Responsible to meet the legal obligations for product (s) that are bound by commercial/legal contract.
Minimum requirements

What you\'ll bring to the role:
  • University degree or equivalent in Science, Marketing and Business qualification. (MBA desirable)
  • A proven track record of experience in delivering strategic business growth for a company in the generics and biosimilar off-patent sector.
  • Experience in the UK Generics Market preferred.
  • Awareness and understanding of the trends and dynamics within the UK healthcare sector and of the key drivers that are influencing them, coupled with a desire and ability to change / influence these dynamics
  • Second line leadership experience essential
  • Hands-on experience of pharmaceutical sales and marketing management
  • Understanding of pricing dynamics in the generics sector
  • Enterprise leadership skills essential
  • Experience in cross-functional teams including medical.
  • Experience of the multiple facets of marketing including communication (KOL, public affairs, public relations), financial analysis and market research.
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical product development process including early commercial assessments, new product launches, and life cycle management.
  • Strong influence/negotiation skills and relationship management capabilities are a must.
