We are looking for an experienced Paid Search / Paid Social / Biddable Media marketing leader to head up overall customer acquisition on the Wolf & Badger platform worldwide across both paid and free channels. This role will partner closely with the VP Content & Sustainability, Senior CRM & Retention Manager and Senior PR Manager in order to drive the continued development of efficient customer growth across the marketplace internationally, particularly in the USA. The role will include responsibility for the acquisition of customers across the global business, including managing in-house affiliate, organic, social and paid marketing team members as well as overseeing and working closely with 3rd parties including our external performance marketing and affiliate agencies and our direct relationships with Meta, Google and other channel partners. Your objective will be to drive efficient and sustainable growth in customer revenue through paid and organic channels within allowable unit economics.

The successful candidate should have relevant proven experience in a scale-up online consumer business, ideally a marketplace, and will be confident in managing substantial marketing budgets and developing consumer growth strategies across multiple channels. We have flexible remote work policies, but you will ordinarily be based in our head-office located in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

Main Duties

As Head of Performance Marketing you will provide analytical capabilities, creative thinking and leadership skills to ensure that the Wolf & Badger platform continues to scale sustainably through a combination of paid and organic marketing, overseeing creative marketing assets and supporting with improvements to on-site conversion. You will manage the significant marketing budgets worldwide across all paid channels, help develop a world-class end-to-end customer experience, nurture a customer-first mindset and seamlessly develop our proposition for customers as we grow internationally. You should be confident in implementing, tracking and reporting on a coherent and bespoke customer acquisition strategy.

In this role, you will be responsible for reporting against customer acquisition metrics and providing marketing strategy and performance updates to senior leadership and the wider team. Working cross-functionally, particularly with the CRM & Retention and PR & Partnerships teams, you will create and execute the ideas that will help drive the next stages of customer acquisition and overall business growth, including:

  • Create monthly Revenue and ROAS targets across channels, including ownership and management of the daily marketing channel performance, attribution and reporting
  • Work with external agency partners to allocate and track 7-figure monthly marketing budgets, helping ensure efficient spend and driving daily optimisations across Meta and Google
  • Manage and grow the affiliate marketing channel and support with influencer activities
  • Support in-house and external SEO resources to drive improvements to organic search
  • Test new marketing channels and strategies, both organic and paid, to drive overall efficiencies
  • Use tools including Excel, Looker and GA4 to analyse and report on customer acquisition
  • Support with the development of creative campaign ideas strategies to build brand awareness on new and existing channels in order to drive better overall performance
  • Oversee management and iteratively improve the use of large product feeds (containing 100k+ SKUs) to help drive incremental performance improvements on paid channels
  • Collaborate with the wider marketing and merchandising teams to help execute consistent marketing campaigns across channels and on-site across our various international markets
  • Develop approach for collecting and distributing customer insights across the business, sharing knowledge with the Product team responsible for the customer
  • Execute a \xe2\x80\x98test and learn\xe2\x80\x99 approach to performance marketing initiatives and help manage landing page conversion rate improvements in conjunction with Product and Merchandising
  • Work cross-functionally to help develop product roadmaps which support performance marketing channels, such as the further development of marketing feed efficiencies, customer data management for personalisation and channel attribution
  • Manage, train and help recruit team members within the Performance Marketing function, including the setting, monitoring and development of KPIs and goals for your team
  • Manage agency relationships, including the selection of new agency partners where appropriate

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Performance Marketing, ideally in-house with an scale-up e-commerce / consumer business; marketplace experience preferred
  • Prior responsibility for managing significant budgets across both paid search and paid social channels, ability to drive performance across channels and proven capability to handle measurement and reporting
  • Combination of a creative, data-driven and technical mindset in order to tie together the various functions that help drive effective customer acquisition on an e-commerce marketplace
  • Commercial acumen and highly numerate, coupled with a passion for \xe2\x80\x9cthe customer\xe2\x80\x9d and a relentless drive for results in order to deliver sustained growth in customer acquisition
  • Confident in managing substantial marketing budgets, willing to adopt a \xe2\x80\x9ctest and learn\xe2\x80\x9d approach and able to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with a high level of cultural and emotional intelligence
