Head of People Performance

This is a key role working across the business at a senior level and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. You will be responsible for driving a performance culture, managing the hiring process, providing comprehensive support across the employee lifecycle and managing our company values, people processes and policies.

About You:

  • Have a deep desire to improve the typical approach to the hiring and HR functions.
  • 5+ years experience as a senior business leader in a tech environment, ideally in a commercial or operations role with significant exposure to the people function.
  • Commercial mindset, with a strong understanding of general operations and what it takes to run a successful company.
  • Direct experience building high performance teams, improving efficiency and delivering highly robust and reliable process execution.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR procedures in the UK and US and appetite to become a subject matter expert.
  • High attention to detail, data driven approach and thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with stakeholders from Leadership Team to entry level employees.
  • Comfortable with strategic planning processes such as OKRs and able to assist in driving goal setting across the business.
  • You get satisfaction from winning and substantive results, not simply from pleasing people.
Responsibilities
  • Own the delivery of a best in class performance lifecycle, including employee coaching, feedback, compensation, and goal setting.
  • Ensure provision of people operations to service 90+ employees from 20 countries, to cover employee lifecycle including employee onboarding, off-boarding, on-call; payroll and benefit operation, etc.
  • Manage the internal talent team and ensure effective delivery of the end-to-end recruitment strategy and pipelines in line with business goals.
  • Deliver a best-in-class physical office environment to support a high performance business.
  • Act as the champion for Smarkets values and embed these in our ways of working across the business.
  • Ensure all current policies and procedures are kept up-to-date and in line with employment legislation.
  • Deliver people-related strategies, including performance management, professional development schemes, progression frameworks, and rewards.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members in order to achieve a learning organization.
