Due to continued growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of logistics to join Hammonds. As the Head of Logistics, you will be an experienced and highly skilled warehouse and distribution leader with a passion for driving efficiency and process improvement.

This role has responsibility for both our transport operation and our network of Regional Service centres (RSCs), you will accountable to ensure that both these operations run efficiently and within cost whilst ensuring the best service to the business and customers.

Other key responsibilities of this role include;

• Effective and efficient management of resource in line with business requirement and budget across your operations
• Management of Health and Safety in line with company policy and legislative policy
• Procurement and management of properties \xe2\x80\x93 including maintenance in line with full repair leases
• Source and management of external suppliers and contractors ensuring cost and service KPIs are met
• Management of Light and Large Goods vehicles, trailers and demount boxes in line with current legislation and compliance
• Driving efficiencies within operations and implementing change management as needed or in line with business requirement.

About you

As the head of logistics, you will have a proven background in warehousing operations preferably across numerous sites along side a good knowledge of Transport operations and compliance.

You should also;

• Have excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate in numerous formats and to individuals at different levels
• Be a great leader with exceptional people management skills.
• Posses strong IT skills
• Have a customer centric approach with a passion for driving excellent service

Further Information.

This is Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday role which is based in Hinckley (head office) however you will be required to travel to our regional service centres.
