That means we\'re helping to improve our customers\' lives, and contributing to the success of the business every day.Your role at a glanceThe purpose of the Head of Liquidity role is to develop, enhance and implement processes, strategies and supporting tools for liquidity management across Legal & General Group Plc to drive change and growth to the existing liquidity infrastructure in order to maximise and efficiently allocate liquidity that is available for investment across the Group while maintaining liquidity within risk appetite.What you\'ll be doing

  • You will oversee liquidity management to maximise and efficiently allocate liquidity available for investment by Group and Business Units (BUs) while ensuring that there is sufficient liquidity to meet the requirements of Legal & General Group plc. and its business units, both on an on-going basis but also under various stress scenarios.
  • This includes developing and implementing contingent liquidity solutions as appropriate.
  • You will oversee collateral management to maximise the amount of collateral available to support additional hedging, if required, by Group and Business Units (BUs) while ensuring that there is sufficient collateral to meet the requirements of Legal & General Group plc. and its business units, both on an on-going basis but also under various stress scenarios.
  • This includes developing and implementing contingent collateral solutions as appropriate.
  • You will exposed to senior level stakeholder management, including second line and Group ALM as well as banking counterparties to improve their knowledge and understanding, and to improve control and performance.
  • You will propose, develop and implement liquidity and collateral policies, strategies and frameworks for the Group and business units, working with them to ensure adherence to all such policies, strategies and frameworks including the Group Liquidity Risk Policy.
  • You will develop and enhance a list of management actions that are available to ensure the Group and Business units have sufficient liquidity & collateral to maintain the 5-year Plan and in the event of a moderate or severe stress.
  • You will be working with second line and Group ALM to develop, propose and implement plans and strategies to ensure the integrity of stress testing for liquidity and collateral in line with company strategy.
  • You will be responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of MI and reports provided to Management, Group Risk, Executives and Regulators. Including developing and overseeing a robust Groupwide liquidity planning and analysis capability and identifying any improvements in response to relevant customer and stakeholder feedback and other relevant sources to improve the customer experience.
  • As appropriate, to take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group\'s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance.
What we are looking for
  • In depth knowledge and experience of liquidity and collateral risk and management, including knowledge of relevant UK regulations
  • Detailed working knowledge of all money market, foreign exchange and derivative transactions.
  • Detailed knowledge of fixed income investment instruments including documentation, risk and capital treatment.
  • Detailed working knowledge of cash management operations of corporate treasury
  • Extensive experience in a Treasury or very closely related Finance/Risk/Fund Management role.
  • Significant experience in managing external stakeholders
  • Sound commercial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of leading and developing a team
Qualifications
  • At least degree level 2.1 minimum or equivalent experience.
  • A relevant post graduate qualification is preferable or equivalent experience.
