This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
This is a challenging role requiring a self-motivated individual with a track record of managing and commercialising early stage intellectual property (IP). You will have an educational and industrial background in a life sciences or physical sciences/engineering discipline and demonstrable competencies in technology-related project management, commercialisation and business development.
You will lead the development and implementation of the University\'s IP licensing strategy, working with senior colleagues to set ambitious performance targets. You will lead and have direct line management responsibility for a small team of Licensing Managers to deliver on these targets. You will also ensure that licensing policies and processes that you manage and develop are effectively integrated across the broader Commercialisation Team.
You will have extensive experience of building and executing high value commercial deals and successfully licensing intellectual property, bringing strong negotiation, analytical, planning and implementation skills to drive licensing opportunities that generate impact and financial returns for the University. Essential to this role is demonstrating initiative, a flexible approach and building effective commercial relationships between internal and external stakeholders. You will use your sound commercial opportunity assessment experience, robust project management skills and experience of technology-led innovation to deliver successful outcomes.
This is a challenging role, requiring a self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels in the organisation and the ability to think logically and clearly, work to tight deadlines and to be flexible in your approach to work.
