To commence: September 2024The Governors of Heronsbridge School wish to appoint a motivated, caring, committed and enthusiastic teacher with significant experience of teaching in SEN schools to lead a large department within an age progressive special school. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent classroom practice with an understanding of 11-16 curriculum, will have management experience and taught children with severe learning difficulties including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We are looking for an individual:To undertake an appropriate programme of teaching in accordance with the duties of a standard scale teacherTo provide day to day management of the departmentTo raise standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum area and to monitor and support pupil progressTo be accountable for pupil progress and development within the subject areasTo develop and enhance the teaching practice of othersTo ensure the provision of appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils studying in the department, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and HeadteacherTo be accountable for leading, managing and developing the curriculum, supporting the development and realisation of the Curriculum for WalesTo manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources within the department effectively to support the school improvement plan and departmental development planProtecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.Closing Date: 23 May 2024Shortlisting Date: 10 June 2024Interview Date: 17 June 2024
