The Role

We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the marketing team in the role of Head of Insights and Marketing Science.
In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be leading the charge to get to the heart of what really matters to our customers \xe2\x80\x93 understanding every aspect of what they need, think and feel. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have full oversight of the whole strategic journey, and be responsible for turning these insights into measurable outcomes.

The team\xe2\x80\x99s purpose is to understand and analyse marketing performance. To dive into what\xe2\x80\x99s driving consumer behaviour and attitudes \xe2\x80\x93 both current, and emerging. To use this insight to support delivery of best practise products and services, and create impactful and commercially successful marketing strategies.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide all lines of business within the UK bank with holistic knowledge and understanding of ourcustomers\xe2\x80\x99 lives, attitudes and behaviours, and the changing context that they live and operate in.
  • Drive meaningful results \xe2\x80\x93 for both HSBC and our customers. You\xe2\x80\x99ll do this by defining marketing strategy and plans, aligning with wider business strategy, inspiring others around you and leading by example.
  • Set strategic direction for the UK Marketing plan. Working closely with the Director of Marketing Services, you\xe2\x80\x99ll ensure the plan is aligned to the business strategy, brand strategy and AOP.
  • Incorporate what we learn about Marketing Insight & Effectiveness from campaigns and activities into business briefs. You\xe2\x80\x99ll use this knowledge to continually evolve our approach, developing even stronger and more effective campaigns and activities, built around our customers.
  • Share your holistic knowledge and understanding of our customers\xe2\x80\x99 lives, attitudes and behaviours with the UK business, to continually optimise, and meet changing customer needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • An impressive proven track record in marketing and insights \xe2\x80\x93 this doesn\xe2\x80\x99t need to be within Financial Services.
  • A high level of data literacy and analytical capability
  • The ability to connect information, insight and intelligence solutions to the needs and goals of the business
  • Excellently developed strategic thinking capability
  • A compelling personality, able to command the attention of diverse audiences, including senior leaders
  • Passion to understand customers and clients from every angle, and deliver against their needs.
The base location for this role is Birmingham.
