Proclaim Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to join our team as Head of Human Resources (HR). Proclaim Group is a national, award-winning provider of rehabilitation solutions for individuals who have been injured and/or are absent from work.



This is an office-based role, requiring the successful candidate to work from our office in Hamilton, Glasgow. Candidates must therefore be willing and able to commute to Hamilton. There is also the option to work from home for up to 40% of the working week.

Summary of essential requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Professional HR certification (e.g. CIPD)

Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably as an HR Manager or similar role

Willingness and ability to commute to Hamilton, Glasgow

Job description



This is an opportunity to play a major part in shaping the future of an award-winning SME during a period of continued growth.



Head of HR is a new position within the business that will play a leading role in defining and delivering our HR strategy. This pivotal role will oversee all HR functions, encompassing strategic planning, policy-making, and hands-on operational execution. The successful candidate will develop and lead a small, cross-functional HR department within the business, utilising our existing HR team and technological resources, as well as identifying and recruiting to new roles and harnessing available technologies.



Key responsibilities

Developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the overall business objectives

Managing recruitment processes, including talent acquisition and onboarding

Overseeing employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution

Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations

Maintaining HR systems and databases, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting

Fostering a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and wellbeing

Providing guidance to management on HR policies and best practices

Person specification



To be considered for this role, we are looking for the following qualifications, skills and experience:



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

Professional HR certification (e.g. CIPD)

Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably as an HR Manager or similar role

Strong people management experience, ideally having managed a small HR team within a medium-sized organisation

Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Ability to think strategically and execute operationally

Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities with the ability to translate business needs into HR solutions

Experience of managing a department budget

High level of integrity and confidentiality

Familiarity with People HR is desirable
