As a Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading one or more cross-functional agile crews that build software products for global audiences.

This role offers flexibility, and we welcome applications from candidates who are open to working from our London, Leeds, or Livingston offices. There are multiple positions available.

What you\'ll do

• Provide leadership to bring together a multi-disciplined department to deliver the best outcomes for Sky\xe2\x80\x99s customers
• Coach, mentor and support the team managers to help implement a new operating model and instil quality practices & standards
• Provide advice on feasibility, cost and timeline associated with key initiatives and features
• Support the development of strategic plans and roadmaps based on business drivers
• Establish, update and encourage effective ways of working to ensure teams are efficient in delivery and engineering practices
• Develop and execute a capacity plan with the associated budgets/forecasts to ensure an appropriate level of staffing

What you\'ll bring

• Proven experience in leading multiple engineering teams
• The ability to provide leadership to cross-disciplinary engineering teams that own delivery of software from definition to production and customers
• Experience collaborating with senior and diverse stakeholder groups
• Track record of shipping software at pace
• Experience leading teams through change initiatives with the ability to bring others along the journey

Any of the following will be a bonus

• Extensive knowledge and application of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, serverless / cloud architecture, Agile, Product teams, etc.)
• Working with embedded software coupled with cloud solutions
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a track-record of using data to make decisions
• The ability to operate at a range of levels \xe2\x80\x93 both in terms of big picture strategic thinking, thought leadership and getting into the data and analysis

Osterley

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you\xe2\x80\x99ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

Leeds

Our spacious tech hub is less than a mile from Leeds train station. There\xe2\x80\x99s plenty of parking in the surrounding streets and at the nearby CitiPark.

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there\xe2\x80\x99s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
