Overview of the role

To be accountable for the performance and running of our Digital function, with a critical P&L/budget accountability. Building scalable, productive and high-quality digital products to meet expectations of our digital customers and NHS partners. Leading the digital offering for the business including product, engineering and design - influencing our digital products and experience across both our retail and wholesale businesses.


Main Responsibilities
Accountable for the performance and running of Bestway Healthcare's Digital function. Responsible for the digital P&L of 20m plus, including managing budgets, controlling costs and growing revenues. Accountable for the strategy of our digital business and for influencing the broader business, Exec team and board to gain buy in for the digital strategy. Lead any relationships with external digital businesses. Accountable for the build and support of all digital products (repeat prescriptions, online services, online OTC), omnichannel enablers (click & collect, services booking portal ect.) and future CRM capability. Working with the Digital teams and wider business to drive ways of working improvements. Accountable for digital marketing to ensure that digital products exceed growth targets through new customer acquisition. Setting growth objectives for the digital function and managing the team to ensure that these are met/exceeded. Act as the business expert and lead for digital: providing thought leadership to the business and ensuring knowledge is kept up to date by external engagement such as attendance of digital forums and events. Engage effectively with the wider leadership team to drive the digital agenda and promote alignment across functions. In particular build and maintain strong working relationships with IT to ensure overall technology landscape is both affordable, supportable and delivery flexibility for future growth and change. Drive digital culture within Bestway Healthcare by communicating progress to the business. Build a strong, motivated team who have the capability to support and create digital systems as required. Lead, coach and develop the digital team, with transparency and enthusiasm, while proactively shaping and the best structure to support and scale our digital offering.

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:



Significant experience in a leadership position, developing and mentoring high performing teams. Significant leadership experience of driving digital strategy within a commercial business. Experience of leading the delivery of major technology changes. Experience of operating at a senior level in a fast-growing business. Confidence and gravitas to challenge other leaders and directors. Attention to detail, ability to multi-takes, works well to deadlines under pressure. Creative

Operate and drive continuous improvement using data, feedback and incidents to inform change. Bring together stakeholders to design and implement improvements to our service. Be an ambassador for digital across the business to drive a new culture embracing technology and change.
