Head of Costings and Transformation

Salary: \xc2\xa350,952 - \xc2\xa357,349

Sellick Partnership are looking to recruit a Head of Costings and Transformation on behalf of a large organisation within the public sector

This is an exciting new opportunity for somebody already in a strong financial background looking for a new challenge and a step up in their career. As The Head of Costings and Transformation you will be able to expand your knowledge base of finance even further with the guidance of your manager and have the ability work in an environment known for its great work culture.

As a Head of Costings and Transformation you can be expected to manage and lead the costings team by helping provide your expertise and financial advice, staff development and process improvements using systems such as Cost Master, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel. The Head of Costings and Transformation will also be responsible for helping support the Associate Director of Finance in all aspects of Costing, Benchmarking, Business Intelligence and Service Line Reporting.

Main duties:

  • Conduct regular audit of compliance against key costing standards
  • Providing feedback to the staff and following up any action needed.
  • Support the Associate Director of Finance with development and submission of external returns, financial planning and answering queries
  • Promote a strong culture of financial governance within the department
  • Reporting responsibility for turnover of circa \xc2\xa3349m with the assistance of your team
  • Liaise with the Head of Income and the Head of Financial Management to ensure business units are provided with a coherent financial support function
Essential criteria:
  • CCAB qualified
  • Experience in Oracle, SAP or equivalent software
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Access
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
  • Previous team management experience
  • IT technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate persuasive, motivational and negotiation skills
  • Strong financial background and experience
  • Ability to use own expertise and judgement in complex problem solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to deliver to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to effectively plan own and team\'s workload in advance and amend plans when required, maintaining flexibility
  • Ability to work unsupervised, to tight timescales and deadlines in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to delegate to correct level of staff to ensure work is completed accurately whilst sharing own skills and knowledge
