Job title: Head of Corporate Governance and Risk (Interim)

Salary range: \xc2\xa356,678- \xc2\xa360, 141 per annum

Type of contract: 12 months fixed term contract

Working hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (part-time to be considered)

About the role

The RCOG has an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience working in corporate governance, risk management and legal compliance to work at the heart of the College in an interesting, varied and high profile role. You will lead, manage and develop a small team and support the Executive Director for Membership, Global and Governance in providing the full range of governance services to Council, the Board of Trustees and its subcommittees and trading subsidiary.

Together with the Executive Director, you will provide advice to the Chief Executive, President and Chair of Trustees on all issues relating to corporate and charity governance, ensuring that the College\'s affairs are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements and relevant best practice. You will provide advice and support on best practice risk management methodologies and the processes to identify, assess, mitigate and escalate risk.

As the ideal candidate, you will also have knowledge and experience of working in the charity sector. You will have full or part chartered secretary or professional governance qualifications, or a law degree, or, willing to undertake a qualification.

You will have:

Extensive experience working in corporate governance, risk management and legal compliance

Solid experience of board and committee secretariat duties

Knowledge and experience of working in the charity sector

Strong understanding of assurance and risk management principles and how they apply within a corporate context

Methodical approach to tasks with attention to detail
