The Mare Nostrum Group is an ambitious and growing, full-service publishing company providing distribution, sales, marketing, consultancy and recruitment services to commercial and university academic publishers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Based in the UK with an in-house team of 30 employees, we provide a fully collaborative service for both print and digital content, which complements and extends the work of our client publishers.

To help build on our recent success and growth we are recruiting for a senior role as Head of Client Management & Marketing. The successful candidate will be an effective team leader and have at least 10 years marketing and/or client management experience within the publishing industry. Business Development experience would also be an advantage.

Duties of the role:

• Directly manage relationships with a selection of key publisher clients
• Manage and collaborate with the Client Account Director to ensure consistent and effective performance across all our client publishers
• Actively participate in client pitches and meetings on behalf of the company
• Manage and lead a team of senior marketing reports
• Work collaboratively with the sales team to align sales and marketing efforts for existing clients
• Report to and work closely with the MD

Skills required:

• Minimum ten years\' experience working in publishing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated track record of managing and retaining clients and helping win new business
• Confidence to manage senior marketing professionals
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Entrepreneurial thinking
• Publishing marketing expertise.
