We are pub/hotel in the heart of The New Forest seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and culinary excellence. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating innovative menus, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests in a vibrant hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production in the kitchen. Develop and design creative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and promote teamwork. Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to ensure profitability. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Monitor kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and quality during service periods. Implement new cooking techniques and presentation styles to elevate the dining experience.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques. Proven experience in food production within a professional kitchen environment. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. In-depth understanding of food safety standards and regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Exceptional organisational skills with a passion for hospitality and customer service.
