This role is pro rata so the salary you will be receiving is 16,069.08 - 17,153.14 per annum.
For any roles that start part way through the academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months.

Warwickshire College University Centre runs a number of degree programmes across different centres. Some students require additional support due to a learning difficulty, disability or long-term medical or mental health condition, and the main purpose of the post is to support and mentor these students.
The role of the HE Study Coach is to help students recognise the barriers to learning created by their impairment, and support them in developing strategies to address these barriers. The post holder will support individual student's academic progress and achievement through the development of new skills, such as time management, organisation, researching, academic writing and managing workload. This will be achieved through providing 1:1 mentoring and/or study skills support out of the classroom. There may also be a need to provide note taking support within lessons.
The person appointed will be required to use innovative, flexible and high quality learning methods and resources in order to support students effectively on their degree courses.
The role will involve working across different college sites in any given week, so the use of a motor vehicle is essential. There will be a requirement to undertake administrative tasks relating to recording student progress and supporting student retention and achievement.
This post reports directly to the HE Inclusion Co-ordinator.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively manage a caseload of students, including being able to timetable support sessions in order to achieve maximum contact time and minimum travel.
Provide 1:1 study skills or mentoring support to named students, as directed by the HE Inclusion Co-ordinator.
Provide note-taking support to named students within the classroom.
Support allocated students to develop and enhance their ability to overcome barriers to success, and to enable them to achieve their academic goals.
Support students' academic progress and achievement through the development of new skills, e.g. managing workload, time management, organisation and planning, and research techniques.
Advise students on the procedure for applying for the Disabled Students Allowance and assist them with their applications, if required.
Provide encouragement and motivation to your named students.
To liaise with Academic tutors (on behalf of the student, if necessary) regarding such things as: clarification of assignment criteria, assignment guidelines and deadlines, key dates and exam access arrangements.
Act as a trouble shooter and work with students to ensure they meet deadlines and catch up on any missed work.
Direct and signpost students to other appropriate sources of guidance and support, both internal and external.
As directed by the HE Inclusion Co-ordinator, ensure accountability of support through accurate and timely maintenance of records.
Liaise regularly with the HE Inclusion Co-ordinator on all support issues for the assigned caseload of students.
Work collaboratively with College staff to produce and update medical protocols and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans for students who require them.
Carry out transition visits for prospective students.
Carry out support review meetings for students.
Monitor and update online student support records.
Provide training to students on Read & Write software, for exam purposes.
Assist with exam invigilation, as and when required.
Actively promote and support independent learning.
Undertake training and development as required.
Maintain confidentiality and work with professionalism at all times.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

WORKING WEEKS
The post is term-time only for 32 working weeks per year but this may be less if the post holder starts after the beginning of the academic year. Salary will be paid in equal monthly amounts across the academic year.
HOURS OF WORK
The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 35 hours per week.
PLACE OF WORK
The principal place of work will be the College's premises based at Royal Leamington Spa College. However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we provide services.
