NFU Mutual Guidewire Centre of Excellence
It's an exciting time at NFU Mutual. We've already rolled out Guidewire's ClaimCenter and BillingCenter and as part of a company-wide transformation we're now rolling out PolicyCenter. It's a strategic move that touches nearly every part of our operations, and the results will be felt not just today but well into the future. It's a huge undertaking and a critical one for our long-term success, so we're growing our Guidewire Centre of Excellence to build the expertise and capabilities needed to leverage Guidewire to its full potential. This is your chance to be part of the creation of transformative Guidewire solutions that will have a lasting impact on the general insurance business at NFU Mutual, our customers and their communities.
About the role
------------------
As an experienced Guidewire System Architect within the NFU Mutual Guidewire Centre of Excellence, you'll bring Guidewire knowledge to help shape the technical landscape of our General Insurance business. This is a pivotal role within our architecture function, one that combines visionary design with hands-on engineering. You'll work across the full Guidewire suite, ensuring our platforms are robust, integrated, and future-ready. If you're someone who loves solving complex challenges, thrives on staying close to the code, and wants to shape how our technology supports real business change, then this could be your perfect next move.
As a System Architect, you'll take end-to-end accountability for the architecture across our full Guidewire platform, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter, with a particular emphasis on how these systems interoperate. You'll lead on the design and shape of cross-suite solutions, making sure they're fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned to broader architectural goals. An active member of the architecture community of practice, you're a key voice when it comes to strategic direction, integration points, and roadmaps. While this role is architectural in nature, you'll still enjoy getting into the code, and understand the technical nuances of the Guidewire stack inside and out.
Working closely with product owners and business system owners, you'll translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable outcomes. You'll also partner with our solution engineers who bring deep expertise across digital, data, and integration to co-develop architectural roadmaps. Alongside this, you'll support teams by advising on high-impact technical challenges and collaborating with internal and third-party engineering teams, both onshore and offshore. In addition, you'll coach and mentor more junior engineers and architects, fostering a culture of learning and growth by helping to build capability and succession within the team.
