Would you like to use your skills to produce high-quality guidebooks and publications to enable countless people to safely enjoy our historic sites?

If so, this is an exceptional opportunity for a Guidebooks Commissioning Editor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Publishing Team is a small team within the Learning and Interpretation team, within the Curatorial Department of English Heritage. We commission and publish the iconic English Heritage Red Guides, as well as a select few other publications that add to the understanding and enjoyment of the sites within our care.

As a Guidebooks Commissioning Editor, you will commission and project manage through to publication a number of titles each year, as well as being responsible for maintaining the reprints list. You will be either home-based (with some travel requirements to the London office) or largely home-based, with the requirement to attend team days in the office typically once or twice a month, with the option to work in the London office at other times if you so choose.

To be considered as a Guidebooks Commissioning Editor, you will have a background in publishing and history, archaeology or architecture, or similar. You\'ll also have significant editorial experience of project managing highly illustrated publications.
