About this client/child:
Rose is 14 years old and at the heart of a loving and supporting family; Mum, Dad, and younger brother (9). She is an engaging, sweet, and happy young lady with a love for music, arts and crafts, cooking, listening to stories, and loud engaging activities. Rose sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result, is fully dependent on 2:1 support around the clock. Rose has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a tracheostomy, requires suctioning, a GJ tube (medication, nutrition, and fluid), and a visual impairment. Rose uses her eyes to communicate and can make her likes and dislikes known. Rose has a complex care team in place providing round-the-clock support, is home schooled and her house is fully adapted to meet all her needs.
Overview of role:
Rose has two waking night carers on shift together throughout the night. The first carer is predominantly in the room with Rose tending to all her needs whilst the second carer is on hand to assist when required with personal care, manual handing, hoisting, repositioning, if Rose has a seizure, and assisting with the morning routine. The second carer will also be responsible for preparing PEG feeds, water, cleaning equipment such as the suction machine, nebulizer, syringes etc., drawing up medication, labeling etc., completing some ironing / laundry. We are recruiting for the second carer position, to work 2 set shifts every week.

This is a busy family home and Rose\xe2\x80\x99s team works like a well-oiled machine. For this position, it is imperative that you have previously supported a child/teen with complex care needs such as tube feeding, epilepsy, and suctioning. Training is provided however you must have the basic skill set in these areas. Non-smokers/vaper only.
